Choose the liquid duty before choosing the series
These directions are drawn from the current company catalogue. Keep the complete designation on the quotation: a familiar generic pump prefix does not establish that a different Sanlian family has the same design or operating envelope.

HSN: plan the casing access and material around the water
Sanlian describes HSN as an upper/lower split-casing design with a double-suction impeller and double-volute flow path. Its documentation identifies resin-sand moulding for the casing and a lost-foam process for the impeller. For a pumping station, the maintenance question is practical: can the upper casing and rotating assembly be accessed with the planned lifting equipment while the pipework remains in place?
The HSN page lists family maxima of 4,000 m³/h and 230 m head, and a standard temperature statement of up to 80 °C, with higher temperature to be specified when ordering. These figures are independent family limits, not a single guaranteed operating point. Ask for the selected size’s curve, speed, impeller diameter and temperature rating.
For industrial wastewater or seawater, the source discusses corrosion- or wear-resistant wetted-part options, including a coating or duplex stainless steel. Do not equate that option with every standard HSN pump. Put the actual liquid analysis and component-by-component material schedule into the enquiry, including the seal and fasteners that will contact the liquid.
ASP5030/5040: compare pressure, seal and auxiliary scope
The ASP5030/5040 page describes horizontal, single-stage, single-suction, radially split process pumps designed with reference to API 610 and API 682. It discusses an API 682 seal chamber, mechanical-seal options and auxiliary systems, together with bearing lubrication and cooling options. This is a published design statement; it is not evidence of a blanket API certification for the factory or every pump.
A useful distinction in the published envelope is working pressure: up to 2.5 MPa for ASP5030 and 5.0 MPa for ASP5040. State the normal, start-up and shut-off conditions, temperature and required pressure class. Have the supplier confirm the actual size, material, flange and allowable-pressure basis in the quotation rather than treating the maximum family pressure as unconditional.
For a process order, agree the standard edition, departures, seal plan, utilities and test documents. Define whether the motor, coupling, guard, baseplate, seal-support equipment and instrumentation are included. A pump-only price and an installed-package price do not cover the same work; comparing identical scope avoids leaving the auxiliary system until installation.
ZS: specify the slurry and the route, not just the water flow
The ZS page describes a horizontal, single-stage, single-suction, cantilevered double-casing pump. It allows the discharge orientation to be changed in 45-degree increments and discusses series pumping for longer pipelines. Those details make the pipe layout, maintenance clearance and pressure along the complete route important parts of a project brief.
Provide solids by mass or volume with the basis clearly stated, density, particle-size distribution and the liquid chemistry. Request the proposed wetted materials and a duty evaluation for that slurry. A clean-water curve alone should not be used to promise abrasive-service performance or a wear life. Specify the operating range and the parts you need to replace without dismantling the whole installation.
The source describes packing and auxiliary-impeller seal arrangements and external clean-water flushing. Ask for the selected seal arrangement’s water pressure, flow, quality and control requirements. The webpage mixes a head label with pressure units in part of its seal-selection text; this profile does not reproduce that ambiguous rule. Obtain a clear engineering selection for the actual inlet and discharge pressures.
Keep multistage mine drainage separate from submerged sewage service
D, MD and MDS have different liquid assumptions
The company’s MD(S) page distinguishes D for clean water or similar liquids, MD as a wear-resistant mining development, and MDS with a double-suction first-stage impeller. It describes MD(S) mine-water service with solids content no greater than 1.5% and particle diameter below 0.5 mm. The concentration basis is not stated on that page: specify it explicitly and obtain confirmation. This envelope should not be reassigned to an unrelated legacy D listing or to coarse abrasive slurry.
QW and QWN require a removal and protection plan
The QW(N) page distinguishes sewage pumps from the QWN sludge-oriented development. It describes automatic coupling/control options, F-class motor insulation, overheat protection and a water-ingress alarm probe in the terminal chamber. For a sump, agree the actual solids/fibres, minimum operating level, cable length, guide-rail arrangement and control panel. A protection feature must be connected and incorporated into the specified operating sequence.
Use the casting and test capability to define your order records
Sanlian’s company material describes an integrated route from research and hydraulic design to casting, manufacture and fluid-system supply. Its research page mentions three-dimensional modelling, hydraulic CFD and casting analysis. Its casting catalogue also offers component work. An impeller or casing enquiry therefore needs a drawing, alloy, machining scope, inspection plan and delivery condition; it is distinct from purchasing an assembled and tested pump.
The test-centre page describes centrifugal and axial-flow testing with automatic controls and references an older GB/T 3216 edition. Translate that into a current order requirement: which pump size and configuration can be tested, at what speed, using which agreed standard edition and acceptance grade? Request the actual test programme and report rather than assuming the site’s general description settles the contract.
Freeze the offered configuration
Record full series and size, impeller/stages, speed, wetted materials, seal system, motor and package accessories. Approve the drawing and interfaces.
Set inspection hold points
Agree material identification, casting inspection, pressure tests and performance checks that apply to the selected order, including reporting and any witness arrangement.
Plan installation and repeat maintenance
Request handling/installation instructions, alignment requirements, seals and wear-part identifiers. Define spare-parts scope and the drawing revision used for repeat orders.
Prepare the brief for the actual industrial service
