The two 3DP40 entries share a family name but are published in different transmission groups. A replacement quotation should identify the original drive arrangement, plunger size and operating speed, with nameplate and installation photographs. Oil quantity and pump weight help distinguish the assembly; they do not establish the lubricant grade or shipping weight of a complete package.

The gear-driven 3DP40 table distinguishes 970 r/min input with 336 r/min pump speed from 1,460 r/min input with 513 r/min pump speed. These are not interchangeable speed labels. The 20 mm plunger row is rated at 318 bar and lists theoretical delivery of 11.91 or 18.18 L/min for those two pump speeds.

A 12 mm plunger reaches the table’s 884 bar rating with substantially less delivery, while a 60 mm plunger is rated at 35 bar with higher delivery. The highest pressure and highest flow therefore come from different configurations. Define one required working pressure and delivered flow, including the liquid and duty cycle, and ask for the manufacturer’s selected row and acceptance conditions.

For the belt-driven 3DP40, the 20 mm, 318 bar row gives 7.69 L/min at 204 r/min pump speed with 4.8 kW listed effective power; at 520 r/min it gives 19.60 L/min and 12.3 kW. The reducer table for the same plunger/pressure gives 3.24 L/min at 86 r/min with 1.9 kW, and 12.21 L/min at 324 r/min with 7.3 kW. The nominal 1,460 r/min input is not the pump speed in either table.

The 3ZX40 20 mm plunger row is rated at 478 bar. Its four pump speeds, 307, 393, 466 and 595 r/min, correspond to theoretical deliveries of 11.57, 14.82, 17.57 and 22.43 L/min. Listed effective power is 10.3, 13.2, 15.7 and 20.0 kW respectively. This is a different row and pressure rating from the 3DP40 20 mm selection.

“Effective power” in these tables is not an independently established motor nameplate rating. Ask for the specified drive power, transmission losses, continuous/intermittent duty and startup requirements. Agree whether the order includes the motor, gearbox or pulleys, coupling, guards and base; a bare-pump figure cannot settle that package.

The reviewed 3DP40 and 3ZX40 pages give an inlet-pressure range of 0.1–0.2 MPa. Ask whether that range is stated on a gauge or absolute basis and where it is measured. Check the pressure at the pump while operating, including losses through the filter, pipe and valves, rather than relying on a booster nameplate or static tank reading.

Provide liquid composition, temperature, density, viscosity, particles and any corrosive constituents. The public product tables do not establish one universal material or temperature approval. Original plunger-pump technical guidance identifies inlet restrictions, entrained air, temperature and blocked filters as causes of incomplete filling, cavitation and seal wear. Apply that operating principle with Haiyan’s approved inlet envelope; another manufacturer’s numerical limits do not become Haiyan ratings.

These enquiry routes reflect the application categories on Haiyan’s website, including filter-cloth cleaning, water-mist systems, valve pressure testing, water treatment, textile water jets and steel descaling. They are procurement analysis, not a claim that the existing 3DP40 listing is approved for every application. A water-mist project, for example, must specify its own system and certification requirements.

1. Cleaning or descaling

   State the nozzle demand at operating pressure, simultaneous outlets, water quality and cleaning cycle. Agree the pump duty and high-pressure hose, fittings, controls and guarding as a system.

2. Valve pressure testing

   Provide test pressure, fill volume, hold duration, pressure measurement and acceptance method. Distinguish rapid filling from controlled pressure rise and holding; ask what controller and protection the quotation includes.

3. Continuous process water

   For filtration, textile water-jet or other continuous service, define stable delivered flow, filtration quality, inlet supply and allowable pulsation. Agree redundancy, maintenance access and the inspection plan.

The company describes a traceability process started in 2012: raw-material heat identification, heat-treatment batch and machining inspection are linked to numbered important pump components. Its inspection descriptions include chemical spectroscopy, hardness, tensile testing, coordinate measurement and borescope inspection. The equipment page also lists machining centres and lathes. These are documented company capabilities, not witnessed checks on a particular order.

For pressure-containing parts, request the material identity and heat record, heat-treatment record where specified, relevant dimensional inspection and the component traceability link. For the supplied pump, agree the hydrostatic and performance tests, liquid, plunger, speed, pressure, measurement instruments, tolerances and report format. Decide which records must be supplied and which tests must be witnessed before manufacture.

The company profile refers to ultrasonic and magnetic-particle inspection as procurement and training plans. Do not treat those plans as proof of current NDT capability. If such inspection is required, name the method, acceptance criteria and qualified provider in the order. Historical customer, sales and export figures also do not establish current capacity or delivery time.
