BY PRESSURE CLASS
Ultra-High-Pressure Valves
Service envelope language used in Chinese and ASME/GB catalogues. Class is not a substitute for the nameplate and the standard.
Choosing Ultra-High-Pressure Valves
Ultra-high pressure is a catalogue term that must be replaced by explicit engineering conditions. Specialized connection systems, materials, test procedures and operating cycles can govern selection. Require evidence for the exact valve and connection configuration offered.
What to include in the RFQ
- Specify maximum operating/design pressure, temperature and pressure-cycle duty.
- Identify the complete tubing/connection system and assembly procedure.
- Request material, pressure-test, seat-test and inspection documentation.
Selection scenario
For a test stand, document both steady pressure and repeated pressurization. Review valve operation, enclosure and connection qualification with the responsible system designer.
Common selection mismatch
Do not extend a rating from another size or fitting system, and do not convert a taxonomy label into a certified pressure limit.
