BY PRESSURE CLASS
Medium-Pressure Valves
Service envelope language used in Chinese and ASME/GB catalogues. Class is not a substitute for the nameplate and the standard.
Choosing Medium-Pressure Valves
Medium pressure is used inconsistently across catalogues and projects. Convert it into a specific operating envelope, material and design standard before evaluating bids. The complete assembly must cover normal operation, upset conditions and the required test basis.
What to include in the RFQ
- State operating and design pressures, temperatures and units.
- Request the material-specific pressure-temperature rating and applicable standard.
- Identify seat, packing, end connections and required pressure/seat tests.
Selection scenario
For a plant utility upgrade, place the current and future design conditions on one datasheet. Compare the rating evidence for each offered assembly rather than the medium-pressure label.
Common selection mismatch
Do not assign a numeric pressure band from this taxonomy or treat equal PN/Class labels as universal material-independent ratings.
