Choosing Compression / Bite-Type Ends
Compression or bite-type ends join to tubing using a defined fitting system. Tube outside diameter, wall, material and preparation are separate from nominal pipe size. Evaluate the valve and tubing connection as a complete pressure-containing assembly.
What to include in the RFQ
- Specify tube outside diameter, metric/inch system, wall thickness and material.
- Request fitting-system identification and the required assembly procedure.
- Check the lowest rating among valve, tubing and any adapter at operating temperature.
Selection scenario
For an analytical sampling line, document tubing dimensions and the complete end connection before comparing needle-valve quotations. Include vibration and support conditions in the installation review.
Common selection mismatch
Do not mix unidentified fitting components or substitute a pipe-size designation for tube dimensions.
