Flanged Ends
How the valve joins the pipe. End type is a procurement field, not a hydraulic rating.
Choosing Flanged Ends
A flanged valve is specified by the complete mating interface. Nominal size and a pressure-class label are insufficient to establish a fit: flange standard, facing, drilling, materials and the operating pressure-temperature combination need agreement.
What to include in the RFQ
- Name the flange standard, edition, nominal size, class/PN and facing.
- Provide gasket, bolting and mating-pipe information for review.
- Compare face-to-face length, bore and permitted assembly loads.
Selection scenario
For a replacement in an existing line, measure the installed face-to-face space and identify both mating flanges. Resolve mixed-standard interfaces before placing the order.
Common selection mismatch
Class and PN designations are not a universal conversion or permission to combine different flange drilling patterns.
