Chemical & Corrosive Service Valves
Liquid, gas, steam or slurry names used by buyers. The node is a route, not a corrosion allowance.
Choosing Chemical & Corrosive Service Valves
Chemical service requires fluid identity, concentration and temperature. Body material alone is insufficient: seats, diaphragms, packing, linings and other wetted components can determine compatibility. Include cleaning or flushing fluids in the assessment.
What to include in the RFQ
- Provide composition, concentration, temperature and possible changes in the stream.
- Request a complete wetted-material schedule and compatibility basis.
- Specify leakage containment, operation and maintenance requirements.
Selection scenario
For an alkali or acid-dosing line, review the valve body and soft parts against both the process and cleaning conditions. Obtain the compatibility statement for the offered configuration.
Common selection mismatch
Do not assume stainless steel, PTFE or a lined body is universally suitable for chemicals. Compatibility remains fluid- and condition-specific.
