Slurry & Solids-Handling Valves

Liquid, gas, steam or slurry names used by buyers. The node is a route, not a corrosion allowance.

Choosing Slurry & Solids-Handling Valves

Slurry and solids-handling duty is defined by the particles as well as the liquid. Abrasion, settling, fibers and chemistry can affect the preferred passage and wearing components. Separate isolation from continuous control when reviewing knife-gate or pinch designs.

What to include in the RFQ

  • Provide solids concentration, size distribution, hardness and fiber content.
  • State velocity, pressure, temperature and periods of inactivity.
  • Request wearing-part materials, replacement access and the intended control/isolation duty.

Selection scenario

For a transfer line that stands idle between batches, include settled-solids conditions in the closing-duty review. Compare maintenance arrangements and spare parts as well as the purchase price.

Common selection mismatch

A slurry application claim is not evidence of compatibility with every abrasive or chemically aggressive suspension.
